Medvode is a municipality located in central Slovenia and is located in the Upper Carniola region and about ten kilometers north of the capital Ljubljana. The Sava and Sora rivers meet at Medvode forming a confluence. The name Medvode also means “between the waters”. The municipality of Medvode has 14,300 inhabitants spread over 31 localities over an area of 78.5 square kilometers.
